DAY 2 (Sunday): The Wedding Day - Part I (Tea Ceremony)
06.28.05 (10:34 pm)   [edit]
I was reluctantly waken up by Dan at 8:30am. I was surprise to notice that all her direct relatives are already dressed up and seated in the living room. Gosh, I quickly brush my teeth, get a shower, and changed. I got my camera ready, and waited impatiently. To be honest, this was my first time taking wedding shots. I felt somewhat nervous and pressured. I just couldn’t imagine that if they put such a high expectation on me, and only to find out that all my pictures taken were craps. Dan's father was actually lighting up josssticks and praying.

Anyway, the bright and bright groom has to be back before
9:30am by hook or by crook. I can see that all the preparations have been done, and everybody is waiting for the arrival of the new couple eagerly.

Finally the couple arrived. Before i could even act or see the car, the noise of fire crackers just stunned me for a while.

I know that time is precious, and every second counts. Every moment that i take will make a big different in what is gonna be written in their album, and so, without wasting anymore time, i shovel out my equipment and start to shoot. For a second, i was a bit shocked as i really don;t know what to do, or what to shoot. There's a saying that goes "For every successful man, there's always a successful woman behind" . If it wasn't of Dan's persistance nagging and encouragement, i wouldn't have break thru my own fear and a lot of miricle moments wouldn't be logged, and for that, i really want to thanks her for pushing me up to a higher level, and i really want to give my sincere apology for giving her that "sour face look" at that time. I'm sorry darling, love you ^.^

Anyway, the bride and bride groom arrived with Dan's father's new Vios.

The bride and bride groom pray before entering the house.

Now. After entering the house, they pray to the ancestors and pay respect to them.

Now, the tea ceremony. The main point of this ceremony is to actually introduce the bride to the groom's parents and relatives. As usual, all parents always giggles when drinking the tea served to them by the in-laws. That's a sign of hapiness from the parents as well as the newly weds.

...... and the ceremony continues to many many more other relatives, which i won;t be posting up all over here. Hahahha :p

Ok. Now.... the other way round. All the siblings of the groom is to be introduced to the in-law, which in this case, Dan is the only sibling. Hahahaha. Here, u can see Dan serving tea to her brother and her brother-in-law :)

Oh yeah, and this is one good cheeky naughty face Dan making to me. Hahahaha ^-^ Just look at the laughter and happiness which spreaded around everyone. Look at the smile on the bride's face, and all her aunties at the background :) That's my gal :)

Arhhh ~~~ And finally, what a relief. The tea ceremony finally comes to a conclussion when all the relatives have taken their share. Now is the time to finally relax. Friends starting to eat and chit chat .....

.... while the groom trying to show his appreciation to all his buddies by giving out ang-pows .....

......  and finally every thing is settled, and thus I get to gather the poeple around to get some group photos for rememberance.....
